How To Cure Psoriasis Naturally
Psoriasis Treatment May 17th, 2012Finding the one way to get rid of psoriasis is a long procedure which can consume all your life. You will find numerous suggestions and even try out some but the ultimate solution will almost never be found. There are also numerous products available in the market that claim to get rid or at least lessen the symptoms of psoriasis including creams, pastes, moisturizers, lotions, gels, etc. These products are rather costly to use and also there is no guarantee of their efficiency. Individuals who suffer from this ailment are often fed up of applying various creams thrice a day or taking pills for a long period of time. They are always looking for a solution that is efficient, simple, affordable and provides instant results.
The good news here is that there are certain ways that you can practice and ensure better conditions for psoriasis through slowing down the inception of yet another outbreak. These are ways that can be easily changed and would not also cost you a single dime.
The very first requirement is to find the just right temperature for you. Shifting from any extreme weather to another is not at all good and is also the base of flare ups. Allow your body to adjust slowly from a warmer climate to a cooler one and vice versa. For example staying in a heated atmosphere calls for sweating which leads to irritation and itching on the skin which further on leads to scratching resulting in skin injuries which finally leads to flare ups. The temperature should be controlled in both your home and in your office and both the place’s temperature should be altered according to the temperature that suits you well. Although it will take some time to know of the temperature that suits you but once you find it you will see a great difference in your condition especially in the long run. This temperature adjustment will require adjusting with it as well and so controlling it is much easier in your home as compared to your workplace.
Other ways to control Psoriasis include use of moisturizer which is fragrance free and of a good quality one, very often the whole day round. It is common in women to choose creams and lotions with good scents and smells but in actual these products irritate the skin. Also such fragranced cosmetics are costly and should be avoided instead any product that has a lot of moisture to provide is the best option. You should always moisturize your skin after a bath to lock the moisture in with a good quality moisturizer.
Also Psoriasis patients should completely use all natural products. This means that everything you use in form of cosmetic on your skin ranging from soap to make up should be made of all natural products and should be fragrance free. Always opt for products that are free of skin irritants and are hypoallergenic. Also use a free and clear brand of detergent to wash your clothes as well.

I am suffering from psoriasis and it has affected my legs. In order to get it treated I visited a dermatologist, he prescribed me two creams which were quite expensive. I feel that these creams help me but for short time and the problem occurs again. I have also opted tanning for few days in a tanning bed every alternate day and I have noticed great improvement but I am also worried that UVA rays can cause skin cancer. Are there any effective home remedies? Any good advice?
September 3rd, 2012 at 1:52 pm
It is true that exposing the affected areas to light can improve and help in easing up the flare ups of psoriasis, but it is better to opt for natural sunlight as tanning beds are harsh for the skin. You can try natural remedies such as lemon oil, bee’s wax and pasteurized creams as these are not only effective but affordable as well. Hope you feel better with our advice.

I have psoriasis on my neck region. I was thinking, is there any link of flare up with certain kinds of food that I eat? I’ve used different ointments but none of them showed any improvement. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get an appointment of doctor until mid of September. How can I deal this issue now?

Fried food items are considered as a big culprit in this regard.
Try to eat lots of raw vegetables and fruits. In other words try to eat natural food items like vegetables and fruits.
There can be adverse effects with alcohol, smoking, stress, as well as normal weather conditions of winter months.
Avoid using harsh soaps and synthetic materials.
Some supplements can also work as wonders like you can buy good quality probiotics from a good health food store and you can also take GLA from Evening Primrose Oil (1,000-3,000 mg/day).
In order to get short term relief you can try Emu oil.
Exposure to sunlight is extremely important. This means you must try to expose the affected part to sunlight as much as possible and avoid the sunblock (the duration must not be longer as you can get burned).

My doctor has prescribed powerful steroids that sometimes work very effectively while at times it does not give any results.
I also ordered few things online and it has made things worse.
I heard about biologics – can you tell me something what are biologics?!?
September 5th, 2012 at 11:55 am
The first thing is that the prolong use of strong steroids i.e. three weeks or more tend to stop working (called tachyphylaxis). If your case of psoriasis is a complicated one (i.e. more than 10% body parts are affected), then you can use the biologic agents, which can be administered in the form of shot.
You can find few biologics on the market (Enbrel, Remicaide, Humira) and couple of new ones are about to enter the market. Your disease may not with this but it will practically vanish while you are on the medication. You can discuss with your dermatologist about biologics or you can find out more here.

Can you give any home remedies that can help me get rid of scalp psoriasis?
September 5th, 2012 at 3:40 pm
I can give you some inexpensive remedies which may help you deal with your psoriasis.
Epsom salt baths are considered best for relieving the itchiness, redness as well as the flaking. Only take a bit and rub it on the scalp in the affected parts.
Initially you will feel burning sensation that happens with most medications that help in treating psoriasis.
Use of olive oil is effective, as well as A&D, Petroleum Jelly, Cortaid, Bacitracin and other topicals of this type as the affected area remain moisturized with them.
In order to dry the affected areas up, use OTC medications that you can easily buy from a pharmacy. A “psoriasin” is a a good one as it can treat the affected part and help you pick off the rest of the flakes and no blood will be drawn.
Avoid scratching the affected part and try to keep it moisturized if you want to stay away from inflammation as well as discomfort. If scratching becomes very essential then do it the way you usually do with a mosquito bite: simply slap and tap the itch.
This simple tip will do wonders. I applied same method to treat psoriasis of my spouse and since my methods proved to be effective so I am constantly appreciated for that.

I am suffering from Scalp Psoriasis and I am quite sick of this flakiness in my hair. Do reply, I really want a solution.

I’ve had psoriasis of scalp for several years. As prescribed medications did not respond so I quit them and started treating this issue with some OTC i.e. over the counter products. The first thing that I have started is Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo –its smell is not good but it is effective! I am using the spray component of the “Skin Zinc” system too – you can easily find this over the counter product at any big drug store. It includes an ointment as well as a spray and the spray is great for the scalp.

My scalp psoriasis is quite bothering as it is very itchy and sore. I want a cure, please help. I have tried various shampoos and nothing seems to be effective. Is there any special psoriasis shampoo and conditioner available on the market? If I see a dermatologist what will she prescribe creams or pills?
September 8th, 2012 at 11:25 am
Yes, there are special scalp psoriasis shampoos available. I am not talking about the commercial brands. If you see a dermatologist then she will prescribe ointment and shampoo to relieve you from its bothering symptoms. Vitamin E supplements as well as Salmon oil capsules are also good options that you can take. Avoid scratching because it is all about itch-scratch-itch cycle.

avoid the bad fats = fats that are hard at room temperature, red meat (beef and pork except lamb), avoid anything with flour and preferably potatoes, smoking and alcohol (small amounts of beer is ok if youre strict about the rest).

Then: make your own green smoothie of dark green lettuce, carrots, broccoli and green tea (just empty a tea bag into the mixer), mix it, dont juice it – with apple juice – and it will taste just fine. Drink it morning and evening.
Lastly: 2-3 tbl spoons of ash (yes ash, preferrably birch, but ash from any wood that isnt polluted is fine). boil it in 2-3 liters of water, let it cool down, then filter the liquid into a bottle through double coffe filters. Mix 2 tbl spoons of the alkaline water (it will have a PH of 12, or close to it) in a glass of water, and drink, but only between meals since it neutralizes acid and will hurt your digestion if drunk less than 2 hours after eating, or less than 30 mins before eating. Drink as often as you like, but always mixed in a full glass of water.
At first the psoriasis, or arthrities can get worse but after 2-8 weeks it WILL get either completely well (=gone), or MUCH better.
I forgot: also avoid sodas and large amounts of sugar (apple juice for the green smoothie is almost a must, because if you make it with water it will taste like grass and you wont drink it)
September 8th, 2012 at 7:51 pm
All the rest, salt baths, topicals, creams etc can help, but the real control of psoriasis comes from the inside, not from the outside…Im living proof of that.
September 8th, 2012 at 9:42 pm
forgot something else: add 2 tbl spoons of virgin olive oil to the green smoothie – good fats help to absorb the nutrients
September 9th, 2012 at 3:01 am
I am facing the same thing. Avoid using expensive OTC products except Scalpacin which can give immediate but short term relief from itching. A dermatologist will recommend a stronger and a longer lasting solution to you in the form of a liquid solution that you can apply to your scalp.

I am using a shampoo that is meant for psoriasis sufferers, but I would like to know whether is there anything (for example diet, trying a special type of hairbrush or nay other thing) that can improve my scalp condition? I am currently using a flat brush with hard bristles made of plastic. What kind of hairbrush should I use? I have natural curls in my hair, and I just love the curls- so should I use a different kind of brush in order to bring the curls out?

I am suggesting you a treatment in which includes two herbal supplements: Brown Juice and LC Balancer. The purpose of Brown juice is to bring nutrients to the liver so that its efficiency can be restored while the LC Balancer is used for enhancing the micro circulation and thus it helps in accelerating the rate of healing the liver.
The idea of this treatment originated from the theory that the one of the causes of Psoriasis is a liver deficiency. The function of liver is to filter and get rid of the natural toxins of the body. When the liver does not function well then some of the toxins penetrate the filter and causes problem to the entire body. Psoriasis is one of the forms of havoc. When the liver functions properly then the toxins causing Psoriasis will also be neutralized and Psoriasis will vanish itself.

I want some guidance on psoriasis treatment with natural ways like eating special diet, drinking special herbal teas or something like that. Are there any effective ways that can help in treating this issue from under the hair?
September 17th, 2012 at 11:05 am
Hi there. In case of my plaque psoriasis, the combination of herbal spray/cream by champori in my case works the best: as my patches are not completely gone in about 2 weeks and since one last year I haven’t had a flare up. Do try it: You can try it as it is offered with money a back guarantee, you can return if it doesn’t work.
For psoriasis use of vitamin D as well as omega-3 supplements are considered beneficial.

Here I’ll give few suggestions to you that you can easily try.
I will definitely try this because I just heard that it is quite effective. Simply soak your elbows for a few minutes in apple cider vinegar or vinegar and wrap this part with a pad soaked in olive oil (warmed). The best time for applying it is evening time before going to bed so that it can completely soak in. This would work as a good nighttime soak.
Use of lotions is a good option too as it creates a barrier and keeps your skin from away from the dry climatic conditions etc like you can use Vaseline Intensive Care lotion two times a day. This lotion gave me some relief and my plaques were under control too.
Usually sunlight or UV rays is touch and go for us but it is actually important to use a sunscreen on parts of the body that are not covered in plaques while in the sunlight or rays this is because our skin is quite different out there than the normal skin types. Obviously you don’t want to treat your psoriasis to eventually become a victim of skin cancer!
I have also heard that some people have got good results with rubbing vitamin E oil. The next step is to bandage it.
The most important thing is to keep the affected parts moist or do not let it dry out. When you keep your skin moist then keep check for infection as you can catch it easily than other individuals. You can let the skin dry but drying out between applications of skin products is not advisable! I hope now you have got some good options to try. Remember, if you want to treat your psoriasis then you may need to try different options in order to know which one works best in your case, good luck!

My spouse currently has a Psoriasis flare up (itchy skin rash, redness)….Biopsy done too…it is not fungal…need a natural remedy on urgent basis (recipe) so that she can get some relief from this suffering…thanks!

Sudden breakouts are trauma! I would try the diet, bath-soaks, creams, climate control, relaxation, and half a benadryl at bedtime. The stress it causes creates more stress so be nice to yourself. Good luck.

Make a thick paste of turmeric powder (4 tbsp) with some water (warm). Also add 10 drops of geranium essential oil. Mix properly. Apply this mixture on the affected parts and leave it to dry before you rinse it with water.
